I had my 24-week check up last Thursday, (baby is the length of an ear of corn!!!), and when I talked with the doctor about some lower back pain I have been dealing with, she told me that wearing flats or wedges will help that significantly. I’m not sure that I will be able to give heels up completely, (sorry Doc), but I will definitely start wearing flats more often.
I saw that Arielle of SomethingNavy.com had recommended these Citizens of Humanity Maternity jeans and the girl does not disappoint. They fit really well and are SO comfortable. I have tried on a few other types of maternity jeans but they all fit weird…like the legs and butt are too big. These really just are bigger in the belly, but the knee holes give some added movement and comfort. I ended up buying these one size larger only because they didn’t have my size and I didn’t want to wait. I normally wear a size 25 so these are a 26. They are slightly big in the legs and butt but not noticeably so and I anticipate only getting bigger over the next 16 weeks or so – so I figured it couldn’t hurt.
Most of my coats don’t zip or button anymore. I don’t really want to buy new coats because by mid-March I won’t really need them and it seems silly to buy a bigger coat just for 2 months. So in the meantime, I wear lots of layers under the coat, and to be honest – I run a little warmer than I usually do anyways.
In other pregnancy news – I have gained a total of 14 pounds since I’ve been pregnant. It is definitely a weird thing to see your body gain weight and know that it is supposed to be this way. That sounds vain and perhaps it is, but it seems like most women feel this way at some point during their pregnancy. I have trouble sleeping through the night, although if I have a good work out in the evening then I tend to sleep better. I have been doing a spin class once a week, walking on the treadmill as much as possible, and I recently started a barre class twice a week. Baby girl moves CONSTANTLY – kick and moves and rolls around in there like a little alien in my belly. Whenever I wonder aloud what she’s doing in there, Nick says she’s getting organized. I usually post baby movement videos on snapchat if you’d like to see: @emlorraineb.
Also – I need help putting together a registry…I’m not really sure what items I should be registering for…I don’t like to have a bunch of extra “stuff” around, I would prefer quality over quantity, so if you have ANY recommendations, I would love love LOVE to hear them. I can use all the help and mommy advice I can get!!
XOXO – Em
