The Office Holiday Party

‘Tis the season for office holiday parties and with this festive time of year comes the struggle to find office-appropriate outfits that do double duty for daytime meetings and evening cocktail events. If your schedule is crazy like mine, there isn’t always time to run home and change after work and before the holiday party. Ergo, finding a couple staple festive pieces that can be mixed and matched throughout the season is helpful.

For work I liked to gravitate towards darker colors – especially if I know I have to wear the outfit all day at work and then all evening. [I’m the person who can look at a plate of spaghetti and somehow get it all over myself]. I stopped over at one of my new favorite stores, Kit and Ace to pick out some good staple holiday pieces that I can also wear to work. Their clothes are great because they are machine washable even though that have cashmere in them and they maintain their shape and crazy softness after tons of washes. The gray sweater is perfect for any season and the dark green pencil skirt is weighted at the bottom so it doesn’t ride up. Even if you don’t wear them all day, the red heels and the red lip are perfect additions before the holiday party, and they can be stashed in a bag and quickly changed into after work.
