I had intended to write this post AGES ago. But then we moved. And the room was much bigger than our old house so we needed extra furniture and then it spiraled out of control. So finally, after 6 months, I am posting Cora’s nursery and talking about our top 5 favorite baby products so far. And this list is absolutely honest. Some of the items I bought myself and some were gifted, and I will let you know which was the case for each product. Either way, we researched all the baby products we got in-depth and read many reviews to ensure we were getting the best products we could. This post is not sponsored – this is just my honest mama review based on our experience with Cora.
I have to admit, the experience of researching baby products for Cora went from challenging to down-right overwhelming in a couple of hours. I also realize there are many others like me who must be going through a similar kind of stress (a big reason for me to make this post). There are many online review sites for baby products and believe me, I’ve gone through a fair amount of them. The best reviews, however, are usually the ones that answer your specific questions from a consumer’s perspective. Portals like iTest fall into this category with their in-depth reviews on cribs, bottles, baby toys and much more. And they have helped me evaluate my purchase decisions based not just on my interest and budget, but more so on the needs of my sweet little angel.
As for the products that I have mentioned in this post, you can always email me if you have any questions about any of them. Promo codes or discounts are given if applicable! I tried to link as many things in her room as I could! If you have a specific store that you go to for your baby essentials and decor, you may want to see if they have any relevant promo codes for you there. There is a macys promo code that might be suited to you and worth taking a look at.
We tried a couple different carriers. (We also love the Solly Baby Wrap). This one has worked out great. It is lightweight, easy to use, and easily transitions from me wearing it to my husband wearing it. And Cora loves it. We are big fans of baby wearing at our house so it needs to be as comfy as possible for everyone. (This one was gifted to us by BabyBjorn).
This monitor is one of the cooler baby gadgets at our house. The monitor streams to your phone or other device, and it saves up to 48 hours of time-lapse in case you want to watch past footage. It tracks motion, noise, and tracks air quality. It also has a push-to-talk option in case you want to talk to your baby…or the dog…depending on who you are monitoring. One of my favorite parts is that it also offers customized light and music programs. The music and sound quality is incredible…way better than any sound machine that we have looked at, and the light and colors can be adjusted. The one downside is that it does not come with a stand alone screen. It has to stream to one of your devices. I wish it also came with a viewing monitor in addition, but it gets a 10 in every other category. (This monitor was gifted to us by Withings).
It’s gorgeous. Has a storage basket underneath. It’s relatively easy to fold up and transport – it comes apart in two pieces to fold up. It comes with a bassinet, and the tires are perfect for any type of terrain. And did I mention it’s gorgeous. We tested a bunch of different strollers and some of them felt flimsy – there is nothing flimsy about the Bugaboo strollers. (We purchased this stroller).
2. Tote Savvy
I knew I didn’t want a traditional diaper bag and I also didn’t want to have some bottomless pit Mary Poppins tote bag. I saw this Tote Savvy insert on Venzedits and ordered one halfway through my pregnancy. I’m obsessed. It has helped me stay organized to the point that I can reach in to get something and I know exactly which pocket I need without looking. And you can get 20% off your order with code “CHAMPAGNEINTHERAIN.” (I purchased my Tote Savvy).
1. Dockatot
My favorite of all our baby products. I don’t know what we would have done without it. Cora co-slept with us for the first couple weeks. And then she took all her naps there, we packed it in our suitcase and took it on vacation and to this day that is what she sleeps in at my parents house whenever she is there. It’s washable, hypoallergenic and you can breath through it. Yes. You can breath through it. This is the thing that I recommend that ALL my new mom friends get. It saved our lives because it helped Cora sleep so well. Through this link you can get 10% off your order. (We were gifted our Dockatot).
Other favorites from Coco’s room:

Love the print above the crib! Where is it from?
Hi Heather! Thank you! I actually made it myself. I bought the poster frame and some paper that size and painted it myself. I wanted colors that worked with the room and felt soothing. Plus I only spent a total of $7 on the whole project! XOXO – Em
