all, (but the last), photos by Emma Parker Photography
We have been having the prettiest weather here in Cbus. (BOUT TIMMMEEEE). All the little green buds, fluffy white puffs and huge pink blooms have arrived, and in addition to making me terribly happy, they remind me of the way that I used to dress myself when I was a little kid.
When I was allowed to, and I’m talking like 4 or 5 years old, I would put together hilarious outfits that nearly always included at least three different prints and my hot pink Tweety Bird high tops with lace fold-over socks. Hot. But I loved it. And regardless of how embarrassed my mom may have been, she let me do it because she knew it made me happy. I may or may not have incorporated Halloween costumes into my outfits from time to time.
But dressing should be this way. We spend all day in our clothes, ergo we should wear things that make us happy. Channel your inner Leandra Medine from Man Repeller, or at least your inner 4-year old self next time you get dressed.
The top that I’m wearing and the dress that I’m wearing, (as a skirt obvi), are both old, but below I linked to TONS of different floral + stripe options so you can mix and match!!
Finally, if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I love Rocksbox. Of all the many “boxes” in the market right now, (can I get a wine box?), Rocksbox is by far my favorite. This set of three delicate bracelets is one of the new curated arm stacks that Rocksbox offers for sale! For me, if I am wearing a lot of jewelry, I wear delicate, layering pieces. If I’m going to wear a statement piece, it might be the only jewelry that I wear, or I might pair a statement necklace with very simple stud earrings or thin bangles. So this stack of delicate, sparkly little bracelets work together, on their own, or paired with my other pieces. If you’re interested in trying Rocksbox for a month for free, use code “emilyxoxo” at check out. (You can cancel at anytime!)
